There are many wonderful things about wine; down through the ages it has inspired, humored, delighted & celebrated. In addition, wine has been used as a catalyst to raise money for deserving causes.

Since their Peace Corp experience, hands-on-philanthropy has played an important role in the lives of Tom Clark & Laurie Claudon. From Colombia to Nicaragua to Nepal to their own community they have realized that everyone can make a difference.

Currently Supported Foundations & Causes

V Foundation: www.jimmyv.org, founded by Jimmy Valvano in 1993, has raised more than $70 million and awarded cancer research grants in 37 states and the District of Columbia.

Camphill Soltane: www.camphillsoltane.org, a vibrant communityof young adults with developmental &/or physical disabilities & full-time, residential volunteers & families that live, learn & work together.

The Painted Turtle: www.thepaintedturtle.org, magical place where, in a nurturing, carefree, physically safe and medically sound setting, children with serious illnesses can kick back and just be kids. Paul Newman was one of the founders.

Nurturing Minds: www.nurturingmindsinafrica.org, Nurturing minds provides financial support to programs designed to improve access to quality education to girls in Tanzania. Founded by one of of customers.

Clinica Verde: www.clinicaverde.org, Clínica Verde is creating an environmentally sustainable prototype for a health clinic in Nicaragua that can be replicated throughout the world. Founded by good friend, Susan Dix Lyons along with an international group of volunteers from the fields of architecture, medicine, and construction.

Clark-Claudon Supported Children in Nicaragua & Nepal: For the last 9 years our family has been supporting the education & living expenses of children in Nepal & Nicaragua. Spending time with these young people in their countires has been inspiring.

Annual Cal Poly Scholarship
Clark~Claudon Vineyards sponsors an annual Harvest Party that raises money for a Cal Poly scholarship. We donate the fruit and the location. Alumni come from all over to pick and stomp, yes stomp, the grapes. Local Cal Poly alumni and friends of Cal Poly donate wine for the event and everyone brings a picnic. The resulting juice is vinified by Clark-Claudon and labeled with the Cal Poly mascot. Proceeds from the sale of Mustang Cabernet supports the annual scholarship.
